While working at DST Financial Services, you will help our clients discover opportunities in the complexities associated with mounting inflows of data, rapid technological advancements, shifting regulatory change, rising security risks and increasing demands from their customers. Your job is to help our clients discover opportunity through technology, strategic advisory and business improvement solutions. You will work with some of the world’s leading Alternative Asset Managers, Asset Management Service Companies, Banking Companies, Broker-Dealers, Distribution Companies, Insurance Companies and Retirement Companies. Opened due to growth and expanded service offerings, the Supervisor of Financial Operations will manage the Midwest Operations Team, which includes most customers within the DST/SS&C client base. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and guidance of associates engaged in processing DST and rejected items and reports. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of DST and SS&C processing. The Supervisor of Financial Operations will oversee the daily workflow as well as administrative staff duties, and project management. They will assist in developing the area’s business and staffing plans. The Supervisor will also participate in the budgeting process and assist with implementing and upholding the company policies and procedures. The Supervisor must possess a thorough understanding of mutual fund processing and administration.
Manages and provides leadership to department personnel. Assists with salary administration, plans adequate staffing levels, promotes training and development and assures compliance with company human resources management policies/programs.
Focuses on the core SS&C and DST operation functions including reconciling approximately 425 Fund/SERV trading activities and submitting approximately 25% of manual estimate activity daily.
Interfaces with all levels of personnel at assigned client(s) on a regular basis. Identifies and responds to sensitive client issues and problems; resolves issues through communication with subordinates, other departments (internally & externally), explaining procedures or systems capabilities. Escalates highly complex problems having significant impact on financials or client relationship to officer.
Manages daily workflow/prioritization and, if applicable, monitors service provided by support departments; ensures all functions are performed efficiently, on a timely basis and meet quality and productivity standards. Reviews current operating procedures, makes revisions and implements changes. Handles special requests and/or exception items, escalating highly sensitive items to officer.
Participates in the development and achievement of department goals in conjunction with upper; implements strategies and procedures to improve service levels, productivity, and the cost effectiveness of department operations; monitors results and keeps management informed. Implements new funds and/or enhanced products by coordinating resources with systems, custodian, control, staff and support groups.
Ensures training and development of department personnel. Monitors associates' progress; evaluates and adjusts group training needs as necessary; provides frequent and regular feedback to direct reports. Participates in the creation of, and enhancements to, associate development plans as needed.
Required; Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work-related experience, or Master’s degree and 1 year of work-related experience, or 5 years equivalent work-related experience
Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to execute assignments within established time frames.
Leadership ability to manage personnel, including training, evaluation and communication of expectations, requirements and results.
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 experience years in a transfer agency, with DST technology experience
1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.
