While working at SS&C, you will help our clients discover opportunities in the complexities associated with mounting inflows of data, rapid technological advancements, shifting regulatory change, rising security risks and increasing demands from their customers. Your job is to help our clients discover opportunity through technology, strategic advisory and business improvement solutions. You will work with some of the world’s leading Asset Management Service Companies, Alternative Asset Managers, Banking Companies, Broker-Dealers, Distribution Companies, Insurance Companies and Retirement Companies. As the Senior Legal Counsel you will provide legal counsel and advice for the Procurement department. Acting as a subject matter expert you will work with key managers in the Procurement department, the business generally and other members of the Company’s IT, Legal, Security and Audit Departments to provide advice on procurement related contracts and related matters. Role will sit in Kansas City, MO.
Drafts and negotiates contracts with vendors and suppliers, including services agreements, SaaS Agreements, software license agreements, hardware purchase agreements, other IT related agreements, staffing, contract labor and human resource services agreements, and other procurement or purchase related agreements.
Reviews legal data and advises organization on appropriate legal action to be taken.
Demonstrates experience in drafting and negotiating software license agreements, hardware purchase agreements, SaaS agreements, other IT related agreements, staffing, contract labor and human resource services agreements and other procurement or purchase related agreements.
Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Must be a graduate of an accredited law school and have passed, at a minimum, a state bar exam.
Three + years prior experience in a law firm, legal or procurement environment. In-depth knowledge and experience drafting and negotiating procurement related contracts with vendors and other strategic relationships, including software license agreements, hardware purchase agreements, SaaS agreements, other IT related agreements, staffing, contract labor and human resource services agreements, and other procurement or purchased related agreements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (e.g. presentation, listening; and report writing).
Analytical problem solving and quantitative skills sufficient to handle a complex regulated environment.
Interpersonal skills necessary: persuasion; negotiation; cooperation; diplomacy; strong planning; organizational and coordinating skills, and strong internal consulting skills.
Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
