As an Associate with SS&C Health, you will be part of an organization that promotes better health outcomes for consumers through clinical and technological innovations. In this senior leadership role, you will manage direct reports responsible for ensuring the company’s products, services, and business offerings are compliant with regulatory requirements. Develops short- and long-term business plans consistent with the needs and priorities of the business and its customers. In conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer, direct the development, implementation, oversight, and ongoing improvement of SS&C Health regulatory compliance programs. Includes evaluating, recommending and implementing and directing approved revisions to the structure of the compliance organization
In conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer, direct the development, implementation, oversight, and ongoing improvement of our healthcare regulatory compliance programs (e.g., HIPAA/HITECH, Medicare Part D, ACA, State Licensing). (Note: Potential including oversight for healthcare accreditation programs)
Lead the development and ongoing management of the annual compliance work plan, including a formal compliance risk assessment and monitoring/auditing plans.
Collaborate with all levels or the organization and, as applicable, SS&C Health resources to identify areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and ensure the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of corrective actions.
Assess the need for and recommend development of contract provisions related to healthcare regulatory compliance. Review and approve contract provisions specific to regulatory and other assigned areas of business risk mitigation.
In conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer, evaluate, recommend and implement approved revisions to the structure of the compliance organization.
Direct the development and execution of specific functional areas of business risk mitigation and oversight, including Business Continuity and Operational Audit.
Broad healthcare industry knowledge that focuses on current practices and trends, including government regulation.
Minimum of ten (10) years progressive related experience in regulatory compliance combined experience working for a major health plan/insurer, pharmacy benefit manager, healthcare consulting firm or governmental entity.
Experience with Medicare/Medicaid compliance or operations is required.
Advanced degree in business, law, or healthcare administration is preferred.
Health Care Compliance Association or other compliance certification is preferred.
Specific experience in oversight or development of health regulatory compliance programs, (e.g., HIPAA Privacy/Security, Medicare, and Medicaid).
Excellent organization and project management skills. Proven experience developing plans for and managing the successful execution of high-visibility initiatives.
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of an organization; experience partnering with cross functional teams to accomplish common goals.
Understanding of business issues as well as regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize PC software (e.g., Microsoft Word).
Inquisitive and analytical problem solver with initiative and ability to work independently.
Ability to think both strategically and tactically, and develop and manage high-level plans and strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret governmental regulations and legal documents.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members.
Characteristics of being energetic, self-starter who is resourceful and creative.
Advanced degree in business, law, or healthcare administration
