Role Overview

The HR Support Services Manager provides direction to HR staff in the delivery of exceptional service on HR programs, processes and practices to employees and managers who reach out to the HR Service Center for inquiries about HR and Payroll related-items. Works with HR specialty areas and leadership to provide feedback and implementation support for the development of new programs and processes. The HR Support Services Manager establishes priorities and coordination of work activities. He or she resolves complex and escalated issues and becomes actively involved in projects, as required, to meet schedules.

The HR Support Services Manager ensures the effective administration of HR and Payroll programs, policies, and procedures; they ensure the efficiency of the HR Service Center operations, processes, and technology. The HR Support Services Manager recommends and implements department goals, procedures, and standards.

Responsibilities

The essential functions of the HR Support Services Manager include:

  • Coordinating and leading the daily activities of the HR Service Center staff in the achievement of functional objectives.

  • This includes:

  • Workforce Planning

  • Request SLA Management

  • Identifying resource materials needed for company intranet or internal HR use

  • Monitor administrative work for SLA adherence and quality

  • Identifying process improvement needs and solutions.

  • Working with various HR policies and systems due to number of acquired companies

  • Collaborating with other HR groups and leadership to provide feedback and implementation support for the development of HR and Payroll programs, policies, and procedures within a shared-services model.

  • This includes:

  • Participating in HR Program project teams

  • Monitoring request SLA adherence for other HR groups

  • Selecting, developing, and evaluating staff to ensure the efficient operation of the HR Service Center.

  • This includes:

  • Training for upcoming HR Programs

  • Reviewing calls and emails for quality assurance and coaching HR Support Services Advisors

  • Assisting HR Support Services Advisors with career and goal planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of work-related experience, or Master’s degree and 4 years of work-related experience, or 8 years equivalent work-related experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Human Resources as a discipline including the various administration functions of Recruiting, New Hire Onboarding, Promotions/Transfers, Separations, Compensation, Payroll, and Benefits.

  • Experience with HRIS applications; Workday, ServiceNow and ADP strongly preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of Human Resources regulatory and statutory requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, including presentation, facilitation and negotiation.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills: Multi-tasks, prioritizes work tasks, utilizes resources effectively/efficiently, adapts to changing work demands/priorities/environments.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information and materials.
