As an Associate with DST Pharmacy Solutions, you will be part of an organization that promotes better health outcomes for consumers through clinical and technological innovations. Designs and develops data storage systems, processes and enhancements for company's complex high traffic, business critical internet site communications and/or network-based (cloud) product systems. Leads the design of enterprise storage environments, including enterprise storage arrays, fiber channel switches and Network Attached Storage (NAS) physical and virtual tape devices. Develops solutions and processes for reliable and stable data storage management, security, backup, restoration, archiving and replication. Assists with the implementation of new or additional storage technology to improve infrastructure service locally and remotely.
This position supports Mainframe DB2 database administration work for Pharmacy Solutions business unit. Associate will be working on data refreshes copying data across DB2 platforms, work with project team in defining DB2 database tables, to build logical and physical database designs, DB2 backup strategy and SQL performance tuning recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work-related experience, or 4 years equivalent work-related experience
Strong knowledge of Db2 for z/OS DDL, DML, DCL writing and execution
Strong understanding of Db2 for z/OS database components, concepts, subsystem function, and internals
Experience in building high performance logical and physical database designs with emphasis on business objectives that drive design decisions
Mastery of IBM DB2 utilities such as Unload, Load, REORG, Image Copy, RUNSTATS
Experience with test data refresh processes using Db2 utilities.
Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve database issues and assist applications teams with database-related application issues.
Ability to work collaboratively with application teams, systems teams, and teammates to meet client database needs
Ability to analyze, test, and recommend new database features, functionality, and products that can yield improvements for the database environment
Knowledge of SQL and SQL performance analysis that results in improved database application performance
Experience completing and managing DBA service requests from client teams to meet project deadlines or resolve support issues
Experience with a IBM database change and catalog tools
Experience with a database performance monitoring tools, DB2 Explain, access path evaluation
Ability to perform database recoveries
Excellent communication skills, written and interpersonal
Must be available off-hours for deployments, support, and monitoring as needed
Must be able to comply with periodic pager duties for 24 X 7 database support
Knowledge of Analytics capability and IDAA fundamentals not mandatory but a plus
Knowledge of IBM Data Studio /DSM not mandatory but a plus
Ability to perform problem determination for Transactional or Batch workload utilizing Db2, z/OS, system tooling
Knowledge of CICS and z/OS constructs and infrastructure
Ability to be self directed and proactive to perform ongoing performance analysis and recommend improvements for Db2 infrastructure and application database constructs
