The full time Information Services Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for requests received ranging from standard to complex from both internal and external customers. Conducts analysis of requests received and determines most efficient and cost effective methods to be used in order to complete.
Serve as main point of contact for assigned clients
Answers and advises clients on questions relating to data requests
Monitors and executes scheduled and on-request jobs in a timely and efficient manner in correlation with department standards
Acts as direct point of contact with SS&C, formerly DST, for problem resolution when issues arise with standard on-request JCL jobs
Provides assistance and in some cases training to internal and external customers
Maintains and updates department processes and procedures
Provides consultative advice to the requestors; selects and applies available tools for the purpose of arriving at the most effective solution for delivering the desired output
Looks for ways to increase productivity and decrease turnaround time with the understanding that some job streams may require multiple sequences, manipulations, and overrides in order to accomplish desired output.
May be called upon to participate on or head up project teams.
Ability to execute multiple assignments within an established timeframe and maintain department quality standards
Problem solving skills; ability to confidently recommend solutions on the basis of prior analysis
Intermediate to advanced knowledge and proficiency of at least two tools currently used in the group including but not limited to Easytrieve, Powerselect, JCL, SQL, MS Access, Powerselect, and Monarch
Knowledge of current programming environment
Knowledge of relational databases
Knowledge of TSO and familiarization of related terminology
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in order to be able to present and discuss technical information pertaining to client related request
Ability to work with highly confidential or sensitive information
