Role Overview

The Change Control team is looking for an Associate Financial Operations Analyst to join their team! This associate will participate, facilitate and drive the project lifecycle from the initial evaluation of client and product transactions through to standardization and integration into the BPO environment. In this position, you will conduct analysis of client procedures to translate into standard practices, evaluate the viability of standardization; determining when variations and exceptions are appropriate. Whenever possible, you will be encouraged to implement automation or other cost saving measures within current processes.


  • Participate in project management by completing and documenting assigned project tasks

  • Perform analysis of client transactions by reviewing the process from when work is scanned into AWD to completion

  • Organize process flows and work with product analyst to ensure complete documentation of new processes and procedures

  • Maintain and update documentation on all projects and tasks

  • Communicate changes through appropriate channels

  • Monitor Risk Assessment and Compliance

  • Maintain Checks and Balances

  • Communicate using standard formats and forums

  • Perform testing to support new and existing processes

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Knowledge of mutual funds operations and support functions; general knowledge of systems used throughout the BPO

  • General understanding of reporting capabilities; ability to identify report criteria and validate reported data

  • Working knowledge of the functions of all units in the BPO, specialized knowledge in a few areas is preferential

  • General knowledge of AWD, Encorr, VBR, Dual Data Environment (QWS, DDE), Knowledge Enabler, Automated Experience Sampling or equivalents (ATR)

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to discuss/document client and technical information; ability to ask probing questions.

  • Ability to conduct analysis, collect and evaluate data. Detail oriented with ability to methodically analyze and solve problems, recognize sensitive client situations, and respond or escalate as appropriate.

  • Must be able work collaboratively with internal clients and external resources.

  • Ability to execute assignments within established timeframes and quality standards; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to follow standard project process and methodology while adapting to unique situations and requirements. Requires flexibility in terms of work hours and schedules.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • 2-3 years of experience working in Mutual Funds, 529s, or Retirement Plans is required
