Role Overview

The Senior Conversion Analyst provides the critical review, data analysis, data reconciliation and conversion of new plans onto the TRAC system. Responsible for quality review of all of the team’s functions, they provide the last review before plans and features are live. In addition, this person will act as a resource to less experienced analysts, clients, Plan Administration groups and Plan Sponsor Representatives. The Senior Conversion Analyst is responsible for knowledge and training of all Analysts functions and provides quality review for all team processes. They will also provide backup support for Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Independently coordinate all system aspects of Plan installations and conversions. Reviews initial applications / Adoption Agreement for new Plans to be installed or converted. Ensures all data and systems requirements such as Plan format setups and data downloads are properly executed. Works with DST as needed to define requirements for mapping more complex layouts on large Plans from various providers / record-keeping systems.

  • Handles Money Market, Mapped, Retirement Date, and complex dual strategy conversions and product moves. Plays a lead role in converting mid and large market plans.

  • Releases full service and plan direct conversions and applies logic to ensure redemption, trade dates and bypass flags are accurately processed. Handles money market, RDF and complex mapped conversions.

  • Handles maintenance and updating of master spreadsheet for MVA (Market Value Adjustment) calculations on annuity product de-conversions.

  • Coordinates with plan sponsors, prior record keepers and or third party administrators to arrange for fund purchases, ultimately ensuring correct allocations are made to the individual participant accounts.

  • Serves as primary point of contact for all tasks during conversion and coordinates data migration and reconciliation, plan accounting and system set up.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise during conversion, working in collaboration with the conversion team, operations and relationship management. Including monitoring and assisting in effective resolution of escalation requests.

  • Works with NSCC, trading services, operations, adjustments, open items and control teams to resolve outstanding issues properly and within specified time frames. Coordinate communication and resolution with RPAMs, Plan Design, Reporting and Testing, and Relationship Teams.

  • Responsible for daily queue monitoring and allocation of work across the team members to ensure all work is processed and QC’d within SLA. Review non-end detail report and provide status and resolution of any outstanding work.

  • Provides troubleshooting, testing support and issue documentation for more complex projects involving applications used within the group for ongoing enhancements.

  • Performs Quality Control (QC) function and allocation of applicable complexity level QC to available analysts.

  • Internal liaison between all teams within DST RS to ensure smooth transition of new plans to full operation as well as spearheading escalation requests through review and execution.

  • Works with current procedures and maintain revisions and make suggestions for areas of improvement.

  • Provides continuous guidance and training to less-experienced analysts, assuming supervisory responsibility and workflow assignment for the team partnering with other seniors daily, as well as in the absence of the Manager.

  • Initiates self-development through courses, independent reading and self-study.

  • Participates in Client Demos and Presentations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Mastery of qualified retirement plans’ conversion process and record-keeping procedures required

  • Strong understanding plan set up and maintenance as applicable to daily plan administration

  • Understanding of IRS and SEC regulations affecting qualified Plans is highly desirable

  • Knowledge of mutual fund administration processes and practices

  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point applications required

  • Strong numbers aptitude including high level of accuracy and attention to details

  • Accounting-related skills

  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, evaluate Plan needs against systems capabilities and limitations and develop creative solutions

  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to trace, clarify and resolve problems

  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to others

  • Proven written, telephone and email etiquette and professionalism, client service skills and time management proficiency.

  • Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects and issues, and the ability to set goals and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment

  • Strong Project management skills

  • Strong customer service orientation in order to provide quality support to Plan sponsors.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.

  • 5+ years’ defined contribution Plan administration and/or conversion experience required.

  • ASPPA or other retirement designation preferred, Retirement Plan Fundamentals required upon hire
