Role Overview

The Qualified Plan Representatives are responsible for quick plan set up requests for qualified plans and IRAs. They serve as the primary contact for plans that are converting from the TRAC platform. They will act as a resource to Retirement Plan Account Administrators, Centralized Processing, Control and other operational teams regarding plan maintenance and conversions, assisting with day-to-day plan administration, record-keeping and plan research.

Responsibilities

  • Processes maintenance including, but not limited to, updating plan provision flags/features, web access, memos, RPAM changes, enrollment updates, contribution updates and eligibility updates. Ensuring plans are updated timely and accurately.

  • Understands and applies plan administration knowledge to the capability and processing requirements a plan and related service level.

  • Process basic level, small to mid-market de-conversions by working with new fund companies and record keepers, plan sponsors, advisors, brokers, agents, TPAs, and institutional clients in order to transfer funds and accounts.

  • Generates and distributes record-keeper data, coordinates asset transfers and liquidation and creation of wire for assets once reconciled as needed.

  • Becomes familiar with product moves and mass exchange processing.

  • Processes shell account set up and quick plan set up for basic service, owners only and simple plans.

  • Performs Quality Control (QC) function of level 1-3 maintenance and conversions.

  • Works with current procedures and make suggestions for areas of improvement.

  • Initiates self-development through courses, independent reading and self-study.

  • May be assigned plan maintenance projects if applicable, based on level of complexity.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge and familiarity qualified retirement Plans, understanding plan set up and maintenance as applicable to daily plan administration.

  • Knowledge of mutual fund industry required.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Word and Excel applications is required.

  • Understands implication of transactions processed and financial impact.

  • Strong numbers aptitude including high level of accuracy and attention to details.

  • Accounting-related skills.

  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, evaluate Plan needs against systems capabilities and limitations and recommend solutions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to trace, clarify and resolve problems.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to multi-task and establish daily priorities based on financial requirements and service level agreement.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience preferred.

  • 1-3 years Defined Contribution, Plan Administration and/or conversion experience required

  • ASPPA or other retirement designation preferred, Retirement Plan Fundamentals required upon hire.
