Job Description:

SS&C ALPS is a leading Registered Fund Services provider in the financial services industry. Founded in 1985, Denver-based SS&C ALPS, with offices in Boston, Dallas, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Toronto also delivers asset management and asset servicing solutions through ALPS Advisors, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of SS&C Technologies, Inc.

VP, Fund Management has responsibility for overseeing and/or supporting the effective management of multiple Trusts and the respective funds complexes. They often serve in an officer capacity for the fund complexes, such as Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer. In addition to the financial operations oversight, they help manage overall Trust operations ensuring appropriate support to the Board of Directors.

They oversee and/or support financial aspects of the fund complexes. They review new and existing accounting pronouncements to ensure financial statement compliance with GAAP and are ultimately responsible for the review and sign off of all funds’ financial statements and operating budgets. The oversee fund revenue, authorize fund payments and monitor fund expenses including fund waivers, reimbursements, and recoupments. . They participate and/or chair various fund committees such as fund Disclosure Control Committee, Fair Valuation Committee and Liquidity Risk Management Committee. They manage the auditor relationship and oversee the funds’ annual audits. They attend Board of Director and Audit Committee meetings for the fund complexes and present on funds’ financial conditions including significant changes and valuation concerns.

They work closely with other officers of the Trusts, including CCO on internal processes and controls. They lead and/or support various Trust projects such as new fund launches, merger and liquidations. They keep abreast of industry regulations to ensure implementation/compliance with the changes. They help manage and provide oversight of the funds’ various service providers. They manage and/or support special projects as requested by the Board of Directors.

Other managerial duties may include ensuring accurate fund billing, developing and managing a budget(s), enforcing company policies and procedures, and recommending policies, procedures, and best business practices. They communicate at a broad level and interact with Board of Directors, executive management and fund Advisers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management or equivalent business experience

  • 8+ years accounting and/or business experience in registered investment company industry

  • CPA a plus

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

  • Computer experience (Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook)

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
