Role Overview

IT Program Manager will manage complex and large scale cross-team, cross-functional initiatives. Interface with engineering managers and engineers to estimate work efforts, define milestones and manage resources. Works collaboratively with architecture and development teams.Track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders. Engage and energize the project teams to achieve aggressive goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Owners to groom the prioritized backlog and translate into actionable roadmaps, delivery plans and executable work items for the program team with defined delivery schedules.

  • Work collaboratively with architecture and development team members to address all relevant implementation details involved in each solution or feature

  • Seek to achieve continuous flow by ensuring the work is balanced and progressing, while eliminating roadblocks and meeting delivery commitments

  • Lead and increase the value of planning, backlog grooming, standups, and retrospectives for software development

  • Develop best-in-class processes and systems while driving continual improvement

  • Promote and ensure adherence to secure coding, unit testing, test automation, and continuous delivery best practices

  • Coordinate releases across all products with Release Manager and Operations team members

  • Work collaboratively with other teams to align work for the team as per the schedule

  • Communicate status, updates and project summaries via presentations, email and direct communication with key stakeholders and executive leadership

  • Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress. Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities. Drive results proactively.

  • Ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be highly effective. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.

  • Help manage the cross-functional strategic planning and business planning process, leading conversations with key stakeholders to develop concepts for strategic initiatives, and developing those into detailed program / project plans (including roadmaps, funding planning, resource planning and hiring goals).

  • Continuously improve and scale the organization. Implement continuous improvements to the engineering organization and the program management process. Share program/project process frameworks, tools, and best practices that can be adopted throughout the organization. Improve product development and delivery. Mentor project management skills within our engineering leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3years of work-related experience

  • Experience in Project & Program Management / Project Portfolio Management, IT Demand Management processes, Project planning/scheduling, IT systems maintenance, Agile and DevOps methodologies.

  • Time and Material (T&M), Fixed Fee (FP), Milestone based, SLA/Risk/Reward based project/program execution. Experience in training and directing others
