Job Description
DST Insurance Solutions was formed in September 2010 to establish a best in class BPO and SaaS solution for the individual annuity and life market. DST Insurance Solutins is building teams to develop this Java-based system.
We are currently hiring a Sr. Software Developer. This position is located in Windsor, Connecticut
Associates joining DST Insurance Solutions in this role will be part of agile (scrum) teams focusing on iterative production-quality releases of system components. Development will primarily include top-to-bottom aspects of the system: browser/client, server, and database. Associates must be team-oriented, with strong communication, initiative and ownership qualities.
Sr. Software Developers develop detailed, complex technical specifications from which programs can be written to support and enhance existing software, third-party products, and/or new software applications.
They demonstrate a solid business understanding for the purpose of the application or assigned task. They also accurately estimate the effort required to code the specifications for which they have written.
Sr. Software Developers consistently demonstrate a high-level of coding proficiency and can be assigned coding tasks of a complex nature. They provide guidance to and assist in training less experienced associates in coding techniques and principles.
Sr. Software Developers execute various forms of testing; unit, system, regression, integration, performance, volume, etc. They initiate and lead specification and code reviews.
Sr. Software Developers perform complex analysis and recommend solutions for disruptions in production systems.
Sr. Software Developers may also provide input into moderately complex technical designs and proposed customer solutions. They may also begin to assume a leadership role for smaller-scoped projects or larger project components.
Required:
* 1 to 2+ years of server side Java development, SQL Server, Shell scripting, and XML.
Desired Skills:
* 1 + years working knowledge in Life Insurance and Annuity products.
* 1+ years experince with YUI, and JavaScript.
* Experince working in SCRUM (Agile) teams.
