Job Description Support Consultants possess the most comprehensive knowledge base for multiple supported products and/or applications, including the impact of outside influences on a product's behavior. They predict behaviors in multiple situations and offer consulting assistance to customers when new variables are introduced. Support Consultants demonstrate the highest degree of vendor knowledge and technical proficiency during problem resolution. They display in-depth knowledge of database concepts. Support Consultants exhibit a comprehensive understanding of multiple product inter-relationships and the architecture, infrastructure, administration, procedures, installation, configuration, and database structured query language of the client middle tier and server software and any peripheral products. They may lead on-site client installations for desktop, peripheral, and server applications. They serves as an expert in customer product implementations. They may read code and run debuggers. Support Consultants use analysis tools to identify deficiencies and make recommendations for enhancing system, database, and/or network performance. Support Consultants manage large-scale, complex projects and act as a resource and point of escalation for the most complex issues or situations. They are a resource for development in the testing of application corrections. Support Consultants lead the collaborative process with support staff, development, vendors, and/or customers through problem resolution. They may advise on departmental procedures, methods, and standards.
Required Skills High school diploma/equivalent; 7 years related work experience, including internal product experience/knowledge and/or demonstrated expertise in one or more technical discipline (e.g., networks, databases, etc.)
Desired Skills Post-secondary education in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; 10+ years related experience and successfully demonstrated project leadership experience.
