ALPS Holding, Inc. is looking for a
Systems Administrator II to join their team in Denver, Colorado.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, is responsible for the maintenance, operation, planning, backup and recovery of enterprise applications and their underlying infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for leading capacity planning, functional and infrastructure design of enterprise applications, and resolution of complex problems.
* Acts independently to troubleshoot complex problems immediately to avoid costly down time and service outages.
* Preforms virtual server setup, installation and configuration of the operating system, new releases and upgrades.
* Execute a backup and recovery process for all enterprise applications.
* Monitors, tunes, diagnoses and resolves operating system problems.
* Develops and implements scripts to automate common functions or system operations.
* Create and oversee jobs on corporate job scheduler.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Evaluate new technologies.
* Provide regular written and verbal reports to management.
* Provide technical leadership and be able to work closely with team members.
* Serve as technical expert in areas of specialty.
EXPERIENCE:
* At least 5 years in the installation and maintenance of operating systems.
* At least 5 years administering a Windows network required (v. 2008 preferred)
* At least 2 years working with VMware in an enterprise
* Some administration of ISCSI SAN Technology
* Experience with Oracle and MS SQLServer is a plus
EDUCATION:
Four-year business or technical degree required.
MCSE/MCSA certification helpful.
VMware certifications helpful.
