Staff Software Developers write, maintain, and document code using high-level specifications or verbal instructions to support and enhance existing software, third-party products, and/or new software applications. They proficiently demonstrate the use of programming principles, methodologies, tools, and techniques. They perform basic analysis and independently research disruptions in production systems. Staff Software Developers produce technical specifications from which uncomplicated programs can be written, but they require assistance for more complex programming requirements. They actively participate in testing and specification and code reviews and are expected to identify basic technical and logical errors. As applicable, Staff Software Developers may begin participation in on-call rotation for the products/systems that they support. Staff Software Developers demonstrate an understanding of how their tasks relate to the project for which they are assigned.
This position will work within the Subaccounting Client Services team for daily support.
The developer will will assist in researching and resolving client and production support issues that arise throughout the business day. Will also be responsible for researching programs, writing scans using SQL/DB2, writing ad hoc COBOL programs. Will also build JCL to accomplish the tasks required.
This position will build, maintain, support and/or execute processes for Corporate Actions events as well as for Client defined events. This include supporting multiple brokerage clients.
Computer programming degree or completion of internal ELP process
Demonstrated technical aptitude to learn an applicable programming language(s)
Knowledge and hands on experience in the following technologies: COBOL, SQL/DB2, JCL
File Manager Batch
File Manager for DB2
Knowledge of Brokerage processing a plus
Knowledge of NSCC Fund/SERV processing a plus
