Organizational Overview

DST's Marketing and Sales Enablement group collaboratively delivers value-added strategies and services that directly contribute to the achievement of DST's business goals. We are focused on elevating the DST story while engaging clients, prospects, current and potential associates, financial analysts and investors in ways that best support DST's overall growth strategies.

Role Overview

The Senior Market and Competitive Research Analyst works and reports directly to Marketing and Sales Enablement (M&SE) leadership to conduct and compile primary research on financial firms and financial services products in the asset management, wealth management, retirement and insurance sectors. Functionally, the role sits within and works closely with a separate research team (not a part of M&SE) who are responsible for research targeted towards financial services firms’ sales and service channels. This individual works as part of a small, high-performance team of other researchers, and will collaborate with others in all aspects of the role.


  • Develop, implement and continually execute a systematic approach to regularly gathering and presenting competitive intelligence on defined products and / or providers. The approach should incorporate primary research (interviews of business strategy executive, via telephone and online surveys) as well as secondary research (based on assessments of on the materials available for other companies, including but not limited to, third-party data analysis).

  • Manage and create content and graphics for competitive intelligence reports and presentations that highlight possible strategic messaging/value propositions and/or convey thought leadership through conceptual analysis and quantitative findings.

  • Assist marketing and sales enablement establish thought leadership and commercial insights in the Financial Services Industry and better position and message existing offerings to potential clients. This may include engaging in or managing the compilation of primary research and / or secondary research through surveys, phone calls, analysis of third-party information.


  • A strong record of academic achievement: B.A. or B.Sc. minimum.

  • 2-3 years of varied undergraduate or postgraduate work experience.

  • An excellent command of the English language in speech and writing. Fluency in one or more other major European languages particularly German, French, Spanish or Italian would be a significant advantage.

  • Intellectual curiosity about consumer behavior, business and technology, and particularly the impact of technology on retail financial services and how firms serve customers across touchpoints.

  • Strong ability to analyze and synthesize data.

  • Excellent listening, critical thinking, and writing skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong initiative.

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to work in teams and help other team members succeed.

  • Experience using business software, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
