Job Description:

Organizational Overview

Global Finance oversees financial accounting and reporting, planning and analysis, income tax function and treasury functions for the DST organization.

Role Overview

The Financial Services Specialist will be responsible for strategic analysis and business partnership with executive management. The Financial Services Specialist will be expected to support executive management through financial analysis such as valuations, scenario analysis, benchmarking, and cost analysis to assist in decision making. This position will also be responsible for leading all aspects of the planning processes and consolidating the company forecasts and budgets for presentation to management. Analysis and follow up recommendations will be expected following consolidation of forecasts. This role will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition to the new monthly forecast process which will include new reporting and consolidation elements to be prepared for executive management and the Board of Directors. This person will be responsible for all communication to forecast stakeholders including forecast timing, assumptions, issues, requests and other any other requirements. Another key responsibility will be liaising with the financial systems team regarding the forecasting toolset (Hyperion). This person will ensure the budget and forecasts are done timely, accurately, and SOX controls are maintained. This role will be required to utilize the financial reporting systems to prepare management reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Act as business partner to executive management through strategic analysis and management reporting.

  • Complete analytical projects to enhance management’s understanding of business through modeling and data analytics.

  • Lead the monthly forecasting and budgeting cycles, including forecast preparation, consolidated forecast reporting and variance analysis.

  • Ensure roll out of the new monthly forecast process including monthly reporting, SOX requirements and executive management requirements.

  • Create timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting for executive management and the Board of Directors.

  • Assist with system maintenance and enhancements, including maintaining account/department trees and assisting with the roll-out of new system tools.

  • Other ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications

  • 8 - 10 years of work experience specific to Finance, FP&A, financial management/analysis, accounting, and independent project leadership.

  • 2-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis and/or mutual fund/financial services industry experience preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent is required. Advanced degree in progress/completed is preferred.

  • Analytical background, strong process improvement skills, and a process improvement mindset.
