Organizational Overview

Role Overview

This position is a key leadership position in the organization and is responsible for the operations, processes and quality delivery of all clinical and pharmacy programs. The Director collaborates with the VP of Clinical Ops and members of the company’s Executive and leadership Teams to develop, monitor, and provide oversight for policy and procedure development, lead continuous quality improvement efforts, participate in accreditation and auditing processes and develop professional relationships with the organization’s customers. This position requires a strong operations background and experience in either Pharmacy or Healthcare. Requires experience and a proven track record of success in operational excellence, program development and management.


  • Provides leadership in program development and operations, process improvement, implementation and measurement.

  • Interprets and implements quality assurance standards.

  • Creates, develops and implements policies and procedures in accordance with industry and regulatory standards and requirements.

  • Improves quality of care and services, work performance and departmental processes.

  • Assures timely identification of problems and correction of deficiencies.

  • Participates in special projects as assigned by the VP of Clinical Ops.

  • Assures compliance with state and Federal utilization requirements.

  • Participates as thought leader for clinical and quality innovations and programs

  • Interviews, manages, evaluates, and develops departmental staff.

  • Works collaboratively with key health care professionals toward identification of opportunities for improvement, trend analysis, education and development of appropriate action plans for problems resolution.


  • Bachelor or Master's degree or 5 years of related experience.

  • At least 5 years Pharmacy or Health care Operations preferred.

  • Lean six sigma/black belt knowledge or experience preferred.

  • Broad knowledge of the pharmacy and health care delivery systems preferred

  • Experience in process improvement, operational excellence and project management preferred

  • Excellent problem solving skills; Refines and modifies processes and procedures to support change.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to establish relationships with key customer representatives through face-to-face and telephonic meetings as well as the identification of proactive business solutions is a critical success factor.

  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Health Plan populations preferred

  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis, clinical study methodologies, and outcome-based measurement required

  • Able to inspire others to grow;

  • Supports innovation in employees

  • Travel is required (15% to 20%)
